FIELD: heat power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat power engineering and can be used for air cooling of circulating water in cooling towers of TPP, NPP and industrial enterprises. Head for a fan cooling tower comprises a continuous vertical enclosure of height H1 attached from below to upper inner edges of baffle guides of vertical plates with height H2 of a catch of water, made or coated with hydrophilic material, upper outer edges of which are connected to upper support ring. Lower edges of the above plates are made at an angle α slightly larger than the angle of natural water slope directed outward, and are equipped with drain trays not reaching the outer side edge of the plate by Δ to form a drain gap. Lower inner and outer edges of vertical plates are connected to lower support rings, and their outer side edges are attached to the edges of the well of the cooling tower, in which the fan is installed. All vertical plates are made with horizontal angle of inclination of relative tangent of lower edge of cylindrical enclosure equal to β directed to opposite side of rotation of fan blades.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase efficiency of a head for a fan cooling tower.
