FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to devices for treating impaired renal function in many painful conditions, and in particular to catheter devices for urine diversion. Ureteral catheter comprises a drain lumen. Drain lumen comprises a proximal portion extending beyond the patient's body by passing through the urethra of the patient, and a distal portion, arranged with possibility of location in kidney, renal pelvis and/or in ureter of patient next to renal pelvis. Distal portion comprises spiral retainer. Spiral retaining part comprises at least first coil having first diameter, at least second coil having second diameter, and one or more holes in side wall of spiral retaining part to allow fluid passage into drain lumen. First diameter is smaller than second diameter. Second coil is closer to the end of the distal portion of the drainage lumen than the first coil. Proximal portion of the drain lumen does not substantially contain or contain holes. Before introducing into the urinary tract of the patient, a portion of the drain lumen in proximal direction to the retaining portion forms a central axis. At that during deployment the first coil and the second coil of the retaining part pass around the axis of the holding part, which at least partially coincides with central axis of a portion of drain lumen.
EFFECT: invention provides improved removal of urine from the urinary tract, specifically an increase in the amount and quality of urine output from the kidney.
