SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and a device for determining a deviation value of a strip on a width during its transportation and, further, to a method and a device for detecting an abnormal deviation of a strip based on measurement results. In the disclosed method of determining the deviation value of a strip during its transportation, the image forming apparatus is arranged on one side of the strip in a position with inclination of the optical axis to the plane of the line for conveying the strip, lighting device is placed on the other side of the strip so as to emit light on the strip on the rear side of the strip visible from the image forming means, and the strip is captured by the oblique imaging means to include both edges of the strip in the image, wherein the strip edge is detected by the image captured by the image forming means, and calculating the deviation value of the strip from the normal position based on the information on the position of the detected strip edge.
EFFECT: improved operation of equipment and reduced detection errors.
