FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to research of properties of rocks of shale strata enriched with hydrocarbons, namely – studies of total content of organic matter. Invention relates to a method of determining total content of organic matter in rocks of shale strata enriched with hydrocarbons, in accordance with which: registration of continuous distribution of components of heat conductivity of rocks along formation of rocks along samples of full-size core of well in interval of depths of shale sequence or its small-size duplicates; then, based on the results of recording the continuous distribution, the thermal conductivity components of the rocks collect the collection of samples along the line for recording the continuous distribution of the heat conductivity component along the bedding from the part of samples of the full-size core of the well or from part of its small-size duplicates; prior to registration of continuous distribution of heat conductivity components, spatial resolution of recording of continuous distribution of heat conductivity components of rocks along bedding of rocks, that it was not more than the linear size of sample samples taken for determination of total content of organic substance using pyrolysis method, along direction of detecting continuous distribution of thermal conductivity components of rocks along bedding layers; after that, samples of the collected collection of samples are used to determine total content of organic substance using pyrolysis method; further determining component of heat conductivity of rocks along formation of rocks for samples of selected collection of samples from data on continuous distribution of components of thermal conductivity of rocks; then thermal conductivity of mineral matrix of rocks of shale sequence is determined; then establishing coefficient of connection between component of thermal conductivity of rocks along bedding and total content of organic matter for rocks of shale sequence; thereafter, continuous distribution of the total organic substance content along the samples of the full-size core of the well is determined in the interval of the shale thickness depths or its small-size duplicates according to established ratio connecting values of components of heat conductivity of rocks along bedding along samples of full-size core of well or its small-size duplicates in interval of depths of shale sequence, thermal conductivity of rock mineral matrix and coefficient of connection between component of thermal conductivity of rocks along bedding and total content of organic matter of rocks. Invention also relates to versions of methods.
EFFECT: high quality of data on continuous distribution of total organic matter content along a well drilled in a shale bed enriched with hydrocarbons.
