FIELD: rail vehicles.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to braking systems of rail vehicles. To maintain total braking force of rail vehicle with due allowance for available power failure conditions detection of antiskid control of at least one unit (I, II, III), requesting power-on type (nH, xnH) available on antitheft adjusted units (I, II, III), determining values of μ0 and Kμ0 for each antiskid unit (I, II, III), formation of a function for the value μ0 and a function for the value Kμ0 over the entire course of the units (I, II, III). In the longitudinal direction of the rail vehicle, based on the detected values μ0 and Kμ0 of the antiskid units (I, II, III), current requirement (BA_I, BA_II, BA_III) of braking is compared on each of units (I, II, III), also antiskid unregulated units (I, II, III), with value of function Kμ0 in point of corresponding requirement (BA_I, BA_II, BA_III) of braking, changing each braking requirement (BA_I, BA_II, BA_III) on each of the units (I, II, III), also antiskid adjusted units (I, II, III) to the corresponding function value Kμ0 at the place of the corresponding requirement (BA_I, BA_II, BA_III) braking.

EFFECT: reduced braking of rail vehicle with required deceleration.
