FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: object of invention is drive system (3) for helicopter (1), which comprises engine (4), reduction gear (5) and main transmission box (6), wherein reduction gear (5) comprises output shaft (50) and is installed in front crankcase (7) and in rear crankcase (7'), wherein said output shaft (50) is supported and directed in rotation by several rolling bearings (71, 75, 76) installed in said casing (7, 7'). Drive system comprises backup support (100), located around output shaft (50) and between wall of main transmission box (6) and front end of front casing (7). Backup support (100) is made, dimensioned and fixed on said wall of main transmission box (6) and front end of front casing (7) in such a way that in case of destruction of said front casing (7) to create auxiliary path of forces perception passing through this backup support (100), through output shaft (50) and through said rolling bearing (71, 75, 76).
EFFECT: provides for preservation of fixed connection of engine with helicopter, in particular, with its main transmission box, in case of front crankcase destruction.
