DEVICE, SYSTEMS AND RELATED METHODS FOR INTRANASAL INTRODUCTION TO ANIMAL Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61M16/06

Abstract RU 2721072 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medical equipment, namely to two embodiments of devices (900, 1000) of intranasal introduction for a veterinary subject and to a method for delivery of a fluid medium intranasally to veterinary subject (104). In the first embodiment, device (900, 1000) contains the first base element (980, 981) part including interface part (990, 991) for introduction of veterinary subject (104) into the nasal passage. Device has mechanism (928) of actuation connected to first part (980, 981) of base element. Device comprises pipeline (918, 919) for fluid medium, having distal end opposite to supported end, for introduction into veterinary subject (104) nose passage. Fluid pipeline (918, 919) is flexible and is configured to receive fluid from fluid source (102) and to discharge fluid through distal end into nasal passage. Distal end of pipeline (918, 919) for fluid medium is loose and movable relative to partition wall part (990, 991). Actuation mechanism (928) comprises pivotally connected elements (930, 931), each of which includes bracket (932, 933), having elongated hole (938, 939) for supporting the fluid conduit, forming relative to bracket (932, 933) angle less than 90 degrees. Method for delivery of fluid medium intranasally to veterinary subject (104) involves opening of clamps (980, 981) of device (900, 1000) of intranasal introduction, containing pipelines (918, 919) for fluid medium, having distal ends, which are loose and movable relative to parts (990, 991) of clamps part interface (980, 981). Method comprises stage of insertion of clamps (980, 981) and pipelines (918, 919) for fluid medium into nostrils of veterinary subject (104). Method involves squeezing a nasal septum of veterinary subject (104) with clamps (980, 981) to hold fluid pipelines (918, 919) in the nose of a veterinary subject. Method includes stage of fluid medium discharge through pipelines (918, 919) for fluid medium. In the second embodiment, the intranasal introduction device (900, 1000) comprises first element (930) pivotally connected to second element (931), each of which includes bracket (932, 933), wherein first element (930) bracket (930) is pivotally connected to bracket (931) of second element, and part (944, 945) of handle, connected with bracket and extending from it. Elements comprise clamps (980, 981) connected with brackets (932, 933) and extending from them and having distal ends. Distal end of the first element clamp and the distal end of the clamp of the second element are configured to squeeze the nasal septum of veterinary subject (104). Device comprises pipeline (918) for fluid medium, supported by first element (930) and having distal end disconnected from distal end of clamp of first element, second pipeline (919) for fluid medium, supported by second element (931) and having distal end, disconnected from distal end of second element clamp. First pipeline (918) for fluid medium and second pipeline (919) for fluid medium pass through the flow constriction formed by wing-like folds and basal folds of veterinary subject (104), when device (900, 1000) for intranasal introduction is clamped on nasal septum, for fluid delivery into veterinary subject (104).

EFFECT: technical result is fast and efficient delivery of effective dose of gaseous nitrogen oxide.
