TIPS FOR NASAL DRUG DELIVERY Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61M15/08

Abstract RU 2741249 C2

FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to nasal drug delivery tips. Intranasally administered drug delivery tip comprises an inlet for a drug product, a tip body and an outlet. Inlet for the medicinal product is configured to receive a mixture of a sprayed propellant and an intranasal dosage form. Inlet hole is located on the proximal end of the tip and is configured to communicate with the container containing the propellant fluidly. Tip body limits channels. Each of them has a proximal end and a distal end, and forms a longitudinal axis. Channels are parallel to the longitudinal axis. Proximal end of each of the channels is configured to communicate with the drug product inlet for passage of the received mixture through each of the channels. Outlet hole is located at the distal end of each of the channels formed by the tip body so that the outlet holes create the mixture flows with formation of a loop at outlet of the outlet holes. Inclination angle does not exceed 5 degrees. In a second embodiment, the intranasal drug delivery tip comprises a container, a drug product inlet, tip housing and outlet. Container contains an intranasal drug. Inlet for the medicinal product is configured to receive a mixture of a sprayed propellant and an intranasal dosage form. Inlet hole is located on the proximal end of the tip. Tip body limits the channels and forms a longitudinal axis. Channels are arranged along longitudinal axis. Outlet hole is located at the distal end of each of the channels. Sprayable propellant pushes intranasal dosage form from medicament product inlet through channels and outward from outlets so that outlet streams create mixes with formation of loop at output of outlet holes. Inclination angle does not exceed 5 degrees.

EFFECT: use of inventions enables delivery of nasal drugs.
