FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: interposition ophthalmic implant for permanent placement between sclera and uveal tissue contains a body with uveal biocompatibility and made as an integral whole. Body is thin and has three dimensions, namely length and width, perpendicular to thickness. Thin body has a substantially uniform consistent thickness (e), which is at least 10 times smaller than the smaller one of the other two dimensions of the body. Implant body has two opposite edges, located at a distance from each other as one of two sizes perpendicular to thickness, and one of the edges, called the front edge, has a concave curvature facing the outer body part in a projection in a plane perpendicular to the thickness.
EFFECT: using the invention enables intensifying and making the hypotensive effect of the physiologic uveoscleral outflow constant.
