SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a polymer composition for producing a cast article, a method of producing a nucleated terpolymer (A) of propylene, ethylene and one C4-C10 α-olefin, method of producing a terpolymer (A) of propylene, ethylene and one C4-C10 α-olefin, as well as to cast product. Polymer composition contains a terpolymer (A) of propylene, ethylene and one C4-C10 α-olefin (αO) and β-nucleating agent. Ethylene content in the terpolymer (A) ranges from 0.1 to 8.0 wt. % of total weight of terpolymer (A). Content of C4-C10 α-olefin (αO) in terpolymer (A) ranges from 0.1 to 16.0 wt. % of total weight of terpolymer (A). Melt flow rate MFR2 (230 °C) of terpolymer (A) measured according to ISO 1133 (230 °C, load 2.16 kg) is 0.5 to less than 12.0 g/10 minutes. Process for preparing nucleated terpolymer (A) propylene, ethylene and C4-C10 α-olefin (αO) is first prepared that the terpolymer (A) is propylene, ethylene and C4-C10 α-olefin (αO) polymerization reaction in the presence of a Ziegler-Natta (ZN-C), cocatalyst (Co) and optionally an external donor (ED). Obtained terpolymer (A) is treated with a nucleating agent. Further, the produced terpolymer (A) composition is cooled and crystallized. Ziegler-Natta catalyst (ZN-C) contains a compound of transition metal (TC) of group 4–6 of IUPAC, a metal compound (MC) of group 2 and an internal donor (ID). Internal donor (ID) represents an oil-oil compound, preferably it is not a phthalic acid ester. Said composition is used to produce cast article.
EFFECT: invention increases impact strength of the composition and enables to obtain an article with high impact strength while maintaining a high level of rigidity.
