HETEROPHASE COMPOSITION Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC C08L23/12 C08F210/16

Abstract RU 2717244 C2

FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive industry, namely to a composition for producing articles under pressure, an article made from such a composition and use of a modified heterophase composition. Composition for injection moulding articles comprises: (a) from 45 to 85 wt. % heterophase composition (HECO) of total weight of composition, containing: (a1) (semi-)crystalline polypropylene (PP) and (a2) an elastomeric propylene copolymer (ESC) containing units obtained from (i) propylene and (ii) ethylene and/or at least another C4-C12 α-olefin , and dispersed in said (semi) crystalline polypropylene (PP); (b) from 5 to 25 wt. % of an inorganic filler (F) of the total weight of the composition and (c) from 5 to 30 wt. % of the modified heterophase composition (mHECO) based on the total weight of the composition comprising: (c1) (semi) crystalline polypropylene (mPP); (c2) an elastomeric propylene copolymer (mESC) containing ethylene and/or C4-C12 α-olefin as comonomers and dispersed in said (semi-crystalline) polypropylene (mPP); and (c3) links (D), obtained from bifunctional unsaturated monomer(s) (D'), selected from a group consisting of divinyl compounds, allyl compounds and dienes, and/or a multifunctionally unsaturated polymer with low molecular weight (D''), which is polybutadiene or copolymer of polybutadiene and styrene with 1,2-(vinyl) in the polymer chain and with number-average molecular weight (Mn) equal to or less than 10,000 g/mol. Content of the fraction soluble in cold xylene (XCS) in the modified heterophase composition (mHECO) ranges from 15 to 30 wt. %; and gel content from 0.15 to 1.0 wt. %. Heterophasic composition (HECO) differs from the modified heterophase composition (mHECO), and heterophase composition (HECO), inorganic filler (F) and modified heterophase composition (mHECO) make together at least 90 wt. % of total weight of composition. Modified heterophase composition (mHECO) is used to reduce tiger stripes in said composition for producing injection moulded articles.

EFFECT: reduced effect of tiger stripes in automotive industry articles when using composition according to invention.
