FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to paediatrics, and can be used to determine individual risks of developing overweight and obesity in adolescents requiring primary prevention. If the body weight index is within ± one standard deviation (SD) from the median value, bioimpedansometry is used to calculate a body fat mass index – iBFM = fat body weight (kg) / body length in square (m2). Children of adolescence with fat body weight index 6.17 (kg/m2) and more are considered to be a high risk group for developing overweight and obesity requiring primary prevention.
EFFECT: method enables determining a personified risk of overweight and obesity in adolescent children.
