FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to determine gas properties by correlation. Invention relates to a method in which property (Q) of gas is determined by correlation based on measurement of quantities (μj) of gas mixtures. In the method, physical quantities measurements are combined into the sensor output (Sout) using the sensor (f) output function, in which the sensor output function is determined such that the group of gas mixtures can be separated from the set of gas mixtures, for which gas property (Q) is determined, within which correlation between sensor output (Sout) and desired property (Q) of gas is better than in whole set.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of obtained data is provided.
