FIELD: mining.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a drilling cutting tool and its cutting element. Cutting element of drilling cutting tool includes: substrate; cylindrical side surface and parallel to it longitudinal axis; and an array of superabrasive material located on the substrate and comprising: a cutting end with a planar, flat surface located across the longitudinal axis of the cutting member, having one or more of at least one recess extending into an array of superabrasive material, and at least one projection extending outward from the array of superabrasive material; a first bevelled surface having a peripheral edge and a radially deeper edge; and second beveled surface having peripheral edge and radially deeper edge. Peripheral edge of the first bevelled surface defines the cutting edge of the array of superabrasive material. Radial width of first skewed surface, measured between peripheral edge and radially deeper edge of first skewed surface in plane perpendicular to longitudinal axis of cutting element, is from about 0.002 inches (0.0508 mm) to about 0.045 inches (1.143 mm), and the first bevelled surface is inclined at an angle from about 10° to about 65° relative to the plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the cutting element. Peripheral edge of second chamfer surface adjoins radially depressed edge of first skewed surface. Radial width of second skewed surface, measured between peripheral edge and radially deeper edge of second skewed surface in plane, perpendicular to longitudinal axis of cutting element is from about 0.014 inches (0.3556 mm) to about 0.25 inches (6.35 mm), Second chamfered surface is inclined at an angle from about 10° to about 40° relative to plane perpendicular to longitudinal axis of cutting element. Second skewed surface is inclined at an angle smaller than the inclination angle of the first skewed surface relative to the plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the cutting element. Said planar flat surface of cutting end has peripheral edge and radially deeper edge. Peripheral edge of planar flat surface adjoins radially deeper edge of second skewed surface, and radial width of planar, flat surface, measured between peripheral edge and radially most deepened edge of planar, flat surface in plane perpendicular to longitudinal axis of cutting element, is from about 0.005 inches (0.127 mm) to about 0.125 inches (3.175 mm).
