FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: cutting component includes superabrasive material volume containing the following: a cutting surface passing in two dimensions and across longitudinal axis of the cutting component; with that, some part of the cutting surface cannot be perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the cutting component; rear boundary located behind the cutting surface; and at least one slot in the cutting surface, which starts near its side boundary and passes through at least some part of the cutting surface. A slot can have variable depth, pass through or along the diameter(s) of the cutting surface. Ribs can adjoin the slot.
EFFECT: improving stability and service life of a drilling bit.
