FIELD: poultry processing industry.
SUBSTANCE: poultry stunning device (10) comprises electric control module (1) configured to: a) feeding poultry direct current at voltage of 60 V or less to stun poultry, and b) feeding to stunned poultry alternating current at medium voltage between 60 and 130 V and for period of time between 2 and 5 seconds, to immobilize stunned poultry and relax its muscles. Method comprises direct current or direct voltage 60 V for primary stunning of poultry, followed by supply of alternating current or voltage of 60–130 V to immobilize stunted poultry and further relax its muscles, so that bird does not show involuntary movements, at the same time avoiding damage of its tissues or minimizing them.
EFFECT: device for direct/alternating current and method of stunning and immobilization of poultry are proposed.
