FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to agriculture, namely to poultry farming, and is used for gas stunning of poultry intended for slaughter. Device (10) is made with possibility of gas stunning of live poultry intended for slaughter and located in containers (11), by means of gas mixture containing stunning gas. Device comprises stunning chamber (12) having stunning zones (13, 14, 15), transport device (18), transport conveyor (19). Stunning chamber (12) is located above the ground. Stunning zones (13, 14, 15) are designed with the possibility of being placed horizontally one above the other. Gas mixture of stunning zones (13, 14, 15) has different concentrations of stunning gas. Concentration of the stunning gas in the gas mixture increases, starting from uppermost stunning zone (13) to lowest stunning zone (15). Transport device (18) is designed so that to enable transportation of containers (11) along the transportation path horizontally, in a meandering manner through stunning zones (13, 14, 15) along the stunning path in stunning chamber (12). Invention also relates to a corresponding method.
EFFECT: use of the group of inventions will make it possible to carry out the process of gas stunning of poultry.
