FIELD: biotechnology; manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing biodegradable microspheres. Method comprises the following steps: (a) obtaining a biodegradable polymer solution by dissolving in the organic solvent only biodegradable polymer or biodegradable polymer and drug; (b) uniform mixing of the biodegradable polymer solution prepared in step (a) in an aqueous solution containing a surfactant, to form an emulsion containing a biodegradable polymer solution as a dispersed phase and an aqueous solution containing a surfactant as a dispersion medium; (c) extraction and evaporation of the organic solvent from the dispersed phase of the emulsion according to step (b) to the dispersion medium to obtain microspheres, wherein a portion of the dispersion medium containing the extracted organic solvent is removed while feeding the novel dispersion medium; and (d) extracting the microspheres from the dispersion medium containing the microspheres obtained at step (c).

EFFECT: obtaining biodegradable microspheres differing by their harmlessness and stability during storage; the proposed method allows minimizing morphological changes of microspheres and considerably reducing residual content of solvents.
