FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. If the response to the phenylephrine test is positive, subtotal resection of the STM is performed. With weakly positive and negative responses, white line mobility is evaluated, and if its value corresponds to expected result, subtotal resection of superior tarsal muscle (STM) is performed, and if its value is less than the value of the expected result, the resection of the tarsal plate is performed by the value which is insufficient to completely eliminate blepharoptosis, but not more than 3 mm.
EFFECT: method enables developing a surgical technique with insufficient effect of phenylephrine (FE) test with a positive response to it and an additional test with weakly positive and negative responses to the FE test.
