SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication and to the technology of multiple inputs and multiple outputs (MIMO). Invention discloses, in particular, a method of transmitting signals, comprising: determining by a first device, according to a basic set of parameters and/or a working band of frequencies used for transmitting signals, a number of beams used for transmitting signals, or determining the number of transmitted signals N, where N is a positive integer; and exchange of first device signals with second device according to number of beams or number of transmitted signals N.
EFFECT: technical result consists in more flexible determination, according to transmission characteristic between terminal device and network, number of beams used for signal transmission, or determination of number of transmitted signals, thus obtaining higher gain caused by beam formation.
