FIELD: communication equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication engineering and can be used in communication apparatus. At the step of entering into communication, communication means are synchronized with accuracy sufficient to provide a given level of sampling efficiency, generating an information signal as a sequence of symbols consisting of a sequence of tonal pulses, phases and duration of which have different value, are transmitted successively in time, phase difference between adjacent pulses is equal to π, pulse duration values are set in advance, readings of the received additive mixture of a signal and a signal reflected from the earth's surface are taken in accordance with the signature of symbols used, readings belonging to one symbol are summed up; a decision on the presence of a signal is taken by comparing the obtained sums with a threshold whose value is equal to zero.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency of compensation of reflected signal with phase shift modulation (PSK) with nonuniform pulse duration.
