PULSE-PERIODIC CHARGING SYSTEM ON GAS-DISCHARGE SWITCHES Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC H01J25/68 H03K3/53

Abstract RU 2723440 C1

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: system of pulse-periodic charging on gas-discharge commutators refers to high-voltage pulse equipment and can be used in development of powerful pulse-periodic accelerators of electrons and microwave generators on their basis. Pulse-periodic charging system comprises electrically interconnected high-voltage source, pulse-periodic charging unit, as well as a high-voltage pulse shaper (HPS) with a working capacitive storage and a control unit, wherein the pulse-periodic charging unit is formed by a buffer capacitive storage, an intermediate capacitive storage, inductances, high-voltage diodes, electric-strength gas-discharge switches, two recharging circuits – buffer capacitance storage for intermediate capacitance storage and intermediate capacitance storage on working capacitance HPS storage, wherein the capacity of the intermediate accumulator is equal to the HPS working capacity. As electric-strength gas-discharge switches, thyratrons are used, and thyratron module is arranged, which is a sealed partitioned housing, sections of which are screened from electromagnetic pickups introduced into electric circuits at operation of thyratrons located in the module. Thyratron located in the first section switches the discharge of the buffer capacitance accumulator to the intermediate capacitance storage located in the second section, the thyratron located in the third section, commutates discharge of intermediate capacitance accumulator to working capacitance HPS accumulator. Thyratron module is equipped with sealed inputs and connectors for connection to high voltage source, HPS and control unit. It is possible to fill the module housing with CF6 gas or transformer oil to increase the module electric strength.

EFFECT: increased reliability and service life of pulse-periodic charging system.
