FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a sliding element and use thereof. Sliding element comprises base and coating layer formed on sliding section of said base. Coating layer includes a steel part obtained from particles of austenitic stainless steel, and a copper part obtained from copper particles or copper alloy particles. Steel part and copper part are connected to each other through layer of intermetallic compound, including component making steel part, and component making copper part at interface between steel part and copper part, and the base and the steel part are interconnected through the intermetallic joint layer at the interface between the base and the steel part and/or the base and the copper portion are interconnected through the intermetallic joint layer at the interface between the base and the copper portion. Sliding member can be used as sliding element in sliding area of internal combustion engine.
EFFECT: high resistance to wear.
