FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a sliding element and a method for production thereof; sliding element can be used in sliding areas of internal combustion engines that operate in a high-temperature environment. Sliding element contains a metal base and a coating layer formed on it, which is made of an aggregate of particles containing the first particles of a dispersion-hardening copper alloy, or of an aggregate of particles containing the first particles mentioned and second particles, which are harder than the first particles, and an intermediate layer consisting of the elementary component of the base and the elementary component of the first particles, which is formed in at least part of the contact surface between the said base and said coating layer and is at least one of a diffusion layer and an intermetallic compound layer. Production method of said sliding element comprises the step of spraying the first powder of a dispersion-hardening copper alloy or a mixed powder containing the first powder and the second powder, harder than the first powder on the base in the unmelted state to form a coating layer on the base. When spraying the first powder or mixed powder onto the base, the first powder or mixed powder is sprayed onto the base at a rate that ensures the formation of a plastically deformable section in at least one of said base and the coating layer.
EFFECT: provides a sliding element with high resistance to abrasive wear at high temperatures.
