FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a sliding element and to a sliding element for an internal combustion engine. The sliding element contains substrate and coating formed on substrate. Coating contains areas of a copper alloy obtained from particles of a dispersion-hardening copper alloy connected to each other by interface surfaces passing between them. The specified areas of the copper alloy contain from 2 to 5 wt.% of nickel and silicon as additional elements.
EFFECT: sliding element with excellent wear resistance and a sliding element for an internal combustion engine are obtained.
