SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing material of a positive electrode (cathode) based on complex phosphates of transition metals and alkali metals and can be used to produce improved cathode active material for metal-ion batteries and batteries based thereon. Method comprises a step of holding active cathode material particles in a dopamine solution to obtain active cathode material particles coated with polydopamine, a step of separating particles of the active cathode material coated with polydopamine from the solution, and a step for annealing particles of the active cathode material coated with polydopamine in an inert atmosphere at high temperature.
