SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compositions for protection from UV radiation. Composition for protection from UV radiation includes flakes of a swollen polymer matrix, comprising a swelling thermoplastic polymer swollen in oil, and a plurality of nanoparticles, comprising inorganic nanoparticles of at least one inorganic agent for UV protection, each of the inorganic nanoparticles comprising at least one solid inorganic crystal and a dispersant, associated with said crystal, and wherein inorganic nanoparticles are dispersed and introduced into said flakes of swollen polymer matrix. Also disclosed is a method of making such compositions.
