FIELD: measurement.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to measurement equipment and can be used to measure level and boundaries of media in oil refining, chemical and food industries. Device for measuring levels of multilayer media, comprising a measuring probe immersed into a measured medium, made in form of a section of a transmission line, having inhomogeneities located at known distances from the input, as well as the probing pulses generator, the output of which is connected to the measuring probe, and the receiver, which is connected to the measuring probe and the generator by the input, wherein non-uniformities used are elements whose electrical parameters can be varied by means of a control signal generated by an input control unit connected by outputs to a pulse generator and a receiver.

EFFECT: high accuracy of measuring levels and interfaces of multilayer media owing to minimizing parasitic effect of local inhomogeneities when measuring propagation speed of electromagnetic waves in layers of the analysed medium.
