SUBSTANCE: invention represents a method for assessing the effect of optical radiation on plants on stability of their development involves growing plants in controlled environment of light environment, determining assessment of action on changing morphophysiological trait plants. Morphophysiological trait used is the stability of plant development, the numerical assessment of the action is defined as the ratio of the fluctuating asymmetry of the bilateral characters of paired organs of plants under given and optimum conditions of the light medium for plants of the given species and variety. Besides, the plants are grown up to the phase of cotyledons, in which the fluctuating asymmetry of the bilateral traits is measured, and the bilateral properties are represented by the optical properties of the plant organs.

EFFECT: use of the method ensures reliability and convenience of evaluation, increase of its accuracy, reduction of time required for evaluation.
