FIELD: engine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in fuel supply systems of internal combustion engines (ICE). Disclosed is a block multi-section high-pressure fuel pump for a piston multi-cylinder internal combustion engine with a number of cylinders m, where m≥2, and the same number of identical plungers, each of which is intended to perform the function of displacer and slide-type valve with phase where τ – engine strokeness; n – number of plunger, wherein plungers are made with possibility of operation in pairs in combinations of n-th with n+1-m, where n is plunger number, n=1…m-1, and m-th is with 1-m, and form a circular structure, wherein functions of slide-type valve and displacer are separated between plungers in each combination, but are combined in each plunger, operating in different combinations. Pump plungers are combined into k independent ring structures, with plungers in separate annular structure and identical sequence of connection of channels in all ring structures, at which each high-pressure channel connects above-plunger space of said sleeve with plunger sleeve opening hole, which operates with larger phase, and number of plungers in ring structure and number of ring structures in pump is determined from decomposition of number of cylinders of engine m into prime factors.
EFFECT: technical result is improved reliability of 2- and 4-stroke multi-cylinder piston internal combustion engines with number of cylinders m, where m ≥2, and the same number of identical plunger pairs under condition of failure of some of these plunger pairs, as well as to reduce the plunger active stroke at the same cyclic feed.
