FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil and gas industry, particularly, to oil and gas filtration. Downhole filter includes nipples, a coupling and a filtering element containing stringers laid parallel to the well filter axis between the limiting rings, and coils of the profiled wire wound on them. Stringers are made hollow, rectangular cross section, at that, their smaller faces are made parallel to longitudinal axis of well filter, and stringers height is made of ratio H₁=(2.3…2.8)v₁, where H₁ – height of stringer, v₁ – width of smaller base of stringer.

EFFECT: reduced filter weight at maintaining filtration efficiency.
