SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil and gas industry, particularly, to oil and gas filtration. Downhole filter comprises nipples and a filter element comprising stringers laid parallel to the axis of the downhole filter between the limiting rings and coils of the profiled wire wound thereon. Stringers are U-shaped cross-section, arranged radially and one their base is in contact with coils of profiled wire.

EFFECT: reduced weight of the filter while maintaining strength.
