FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for laser separation of oxygen isotopes and can be used to obtain isotopically enriched oxygen, as well as for subsequent synthesis of fluorine isotope 18F, important in medical diagnostics. Method includes irradiation of oxygen with resonant infrared radiation with wave length: 6.811 mcm; 3.431 mcm; 2.304 mcm; 1.741 mcm; 1.403 mcm; 1.178 mcm; 1.017 mcm; 897.0 nm; 803.5 nm or 728.8 nm; subsequent exposure to strong laser light of the optical or infrared range and intensity greater than 3×1013 W/cm2, and extraction of formed positive ions, wherein the time between the effects of resonant infrared and laser radiation should not exceed the decay time of O2 oscillatory state.
EFFECT: invention provides higher efficiency of oxygen isotope separation by laser radiation.
