FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to separation of lithium isotopes and can be used to obtain isotopically enriched lithium. Method of laser separation of lithium isotopes involves irradiating lithium chloride (LiCl) vapor with resonant infrared radiation at a wavelength of 14.79 mcm, 7.451 mcm, 5,006 mcm, 3,783 mcm, 3,050 mcm, 2,562 mcm, 2,213 mcm or 1,952 mcm, subsequent exposure to laser radiation with a radiation range of optical or infrared and intensity of more than 3×1013 W/cm2 and extraction of the formed positive ions, and the time between the effects of resonant infrared and laser radiation should not exceed the decay time of the vibrational state of LiCl.
EFFECT: invention provides increase in efficiency of lithium isotopes isolation by laser radiation.
