FIELD: molecular physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to molecular physics, namely to the field of separation of nitrogen isotopes and can be used to obtain an enriched nitrogen isotope 15N, which is important in agrochemistry, nuclear power and NMR spectroscopy. The method of laser separation of nitrogen isotopes includes irradiation of the initial gas with resonant infrared radiation, subsequent exposure to strong laser radiation and extraction of the formed positive ions, and nitrogen monoxide (NO) is used as the initial gas. The wavelength of resonant infrared radiation must be one of the following: 5.426 mcm, 2.733 mcm, 1.836 mcm, 1.387 mcm, 1.118 mcm, 939.0 nm, or 811.1 nm, the strong laser range must be optical or infrared, and the intensity must exceed 6.5×1012 W / cm2, and the time between exposure to resonant infrared and laser radiation should not exceed the decay time of the vibrational state of NO.
EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing the efficiency of the separation of nitrogen isotopes by laser radiation.
