FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used to determine points of damage on power transmission and communication cable lines. Apparatus for determining the point of cable damage comprises a pulse meter, a radiotelephone, a source of radioactive radiation placed in the center of the lead container in a vertical channel arranged along its axis of symmetry. In the lower part of the lead container there is a gate mechanism consisting of a lead cover, in the center of which there is a vertical narrowly directed outlet channel, and installed in lead cover of lead gate with vertical through channel, shifted relative to axis of symmetry of lead container to the left, pressed to lower part of lead container by pressure springs with balls and having the possibility of smoothly moving along it until complete alignment of the passage channel of the lead gate with the vertical channel of the lead container and the vertical narrowly directed output channel of the lead cover. At that, the lead gate with its right end part is elastically connected to the lead cover by the spacer spring, to the left inner side of the lead cover there is a pushing electromagnet, which is made in a radiation-resistant design, is rigidly attached, and in the lower part of the lead cover there is a stop. Remote control signal transmission unit is mounted in radiotelephone. Lead housing is mounted on left outer side of lead container, in which remote control signal reception and processing unit is installed, consisting of remote control signal processing unit and storage battery connected with relay unit, and a receiving antenna, the output of which is connected to the input of the remote control signal processing unit.
EFFECT: automation of operation process of the device for determination of the cable damage point and reduction of radiation effect of radioactive γ-radiation on the organism of the operator, which moves the source of radioactive radiation along the route in the zone of cable damage with its periodic installation on the ground.
