SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used to determine points of damage on power transmission and communication cable lines. Device for determining the point of cable damage comprises an autonomous control unit, comprising a red signal lamp and a green signal lamp installed in its upper part, and electronic unit, at that on the support on the side of the lead shutter there is a signal end microswitch, in the lower outer part of the lead cover there is a lower limit switch, and in lower inner part of lead cover to left of vertical narrowly directed output channel of lead cover there is a signal intermediate microswitch, at that, shutter mechanism is controlled by remote control with buttons of remote control "Shutter opening", "Shutter closing".

EFFECT: reduced probability of radioactive irradiation of an operator moving a lead container with RFS along route in cable damage area, due to possibility of its information on accurate alignment of through, vertical and vertical narrowly directed output channels; as well as prevention of incomplete passage of the γ-radiation from RFS, due to increased accuracy of alignment of channels.
