FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing of irradiated nuclear fuel (INF), in particular, to processing of nitrate solutions. Method of purifying regenerated nitric acid from radiorhutenium involves evaporation of nitric acid from a ruthenium-containing solution in an evaporator, condensation of vapours and obtaining a solution of regenerated nitric acid. Evaporation is carried out in the presence of carbohydrazide, having together high catalytic and reducing properties, radically preventing transition of ruthenium to vapour-gas phase.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain nitric acid solution purified from ruthenium to maximum permissible level (not more than 100 mcg/l), which enables to reuse regenerated nitric acid in radiochemical production without additional purification steps.
