FIELD: vessels and other watercrafts.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ice-breaking, particularly, to performance of icebreaking works by air-cushion ships. Invention is aimed at improvement of efficiency of ice cover destruction. This will make it possible to form an air cavity under ice cover, which eliminates forces of water maintenance. Loads from gravity waves, ship weight and gravity of ice itself will act on ice only. Load data will increase ice deformation, facilitating process of its destruction.
EFFECT: technical result is achieved due to movement of hovercraft along ice cover edge with partial hanging of flexible enclosure behind ice edge and to heel of ship in direction of flexible guard hanging.
