FIELD: ice-technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ice-breaking, particularly, to performance of icebreaking works by air-cushion ships. Air-cushion ship moves along ice cover edge with partial hanging of flexible enclosure behind ice edge. During movement along ice edge vessel is imparted transverse rolling with own frequency of transverse oscillations of ship and amplitude sufficient to ensure impact of ship hull along ice edge, which will increase its ice breaking capacity.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency of ice breaking.
