FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to orthopedic dentistry, and is intended for use in making an elastic dental splint. Patient's jaws and dentures are scanned, lower jaw position is fixed relative to upper position in space depending on preset treatment task, simulating the dental splint boundaries in a computer simulation program based on the obtained virtual models of the patient's jaws, selecting the volumetric image of the splint in a separate file. Volume of the obtained image is increased by 0.4 mm from the total volume. Reducing the object inner image with forming object boundaries with thickness of 0.4 mm, 3D printing of the obtained virtual model from the dental heat-resistant polymer. Holes are formed in the end part of the obtained object at different level for application of silicone and removal of air outflow. Silicone material is applied through the formed hole with the syringe with Shore hardness depending on the subsequent practical purpose. Splint temperature polymerization in dry-fire cabinet at 82 degrees for 1 hour. Plastic shell of splint is broken. Dental splint is cleaned, filed and polished.
EFFECT: method allows to manufacture an elastic dental splint of a configuration and stiffness required depending on its purpose, using modern technologies of computer manufacturing of dental prostheses.
