FIELD: security printing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a security document, particularly banknotes. Document consists of a sheet of fibrous material, in which at least one of the opposite wide sides is coated with a protective film. Method includes steps of: a) applying a first thermosetting adhesive layer on a wide side of the sheet; b) applying a layer of second thermosetting adhesive on one side of the protective film; wherein the first and second thermosetting adhesive are different and selected from a group consisting of a thermosetting adhesive of a thermoplastic type and a thermosetting adhesive structured by ultraviolet radiation; c) application of the film on the sheet so that the first and second thermosetting glue come into contact with each other; d) thermal treatment of "sheet + film" combination obtained at stage c), prior to softening said types of thermosetting adhesive; e) ultraviolet irradiation of the obtained at the stage c) "sheet + film" combination for the thermosetting adhesive structuring.

EFFECT: invention enables to produce a security document with opposite sides coated with a protective film, while maintaining its excellent integrity even with sparing treatment, such as an arbitrary increase in temperature with fraudulent intentions or drowning by negligence, for example, into a liquid alkaline medium, id est under extreme conditions of use.
