SUBSTANCE: protected document, coated with protective varnish on at least one side at approximately 70 % to nearly 90 % and having on from nearly 10 % to nearly 30 % of one or more free of lacquer regions containing one or more free of lacquer recesses, where in lacquer-free area of protective lacquer is present in an amount of less than 30 % in comparison with surfaces coated with protective lacquer where the said percentage corresponds to the percentage of layer thickness in comparison with average thickness of protective lacquer layer, and where the term "recess" relates to a recess in the surface of the protected document with the above percentages are given in terms of total surface area of one side of the protected document.
EFFECT: proposed invention relates to protection of protected documents, particularly banknotes from illegal action, such as plunder or theft.
