FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aqueous suspensions of gas-filled microvesicles with a peptide targeting ligand, and can be used to visualize a region of interest. Disclosed is an aqueous suspension of gas-filled microvesicles containing a phospholipid and a targeting peptide ligand, suspension additionally contains glucose and histidine in concentration of 1.5 mM to 20 mM. Imaging method involves ultrasonic irradiation of said region of interest in a subject, to which an effective amount of said suspension has been previously introduced, and collecting corresponding echo signals from said region. Also provided is a pharmaceutical kit comprising (a) a first container with a physiologically acceptable gas in contact with a lyophilised composition, containing (i) a phospholipid, (ii) a targeting peptide ligand, and (iii) histidine, and (b) a second container with a physiologically acceptable solution, containing glucose, to restore lyophilized composition into a suspension of gas-filled microvesicles.
EFFECT: invention provides visualizing a region of interest, which contains tissue expressing receptors containing a kinase domain (KDR).
