FIELD: veterinary medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary science. Method for determining viability of lamblia cysts in biological material at low temperatures comprises preparation of a test sample batch, introduction of Ovatec Plus diagnosticum, application of suspension on a slide, colouring of analysed suspension by application of 1 drop of 0.1 % water solution of eosin and fixation by dye fixator according to May-Grunwald "GEMSTANDART-MG". After that, the cover glass is covered and viewed under a microscope. Viable cysts remain uncoloured and the dead cysts become yellow.
EFFECT: invention enables to determine living lamblia cysts in faeces at low temperatures.
