FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of extracting vanadium and chromium from vanadium-chromium slag. Method involves uniform mixing of vanadium-chromium slag, sodium carbonate and clinker with their subsequent firing to produce clinker obtained as a result of sodium firing. Water leaching is carried out with clinker obtained as a result of sodium firing to obtain vanadium-chromium leachate and leached residue. Vanadium-chromium leaching product is brought to pH from 11.5 to 12.5, sodium aluminate is added and "solid-liquid" phases are separated to obtain a desiliconised solution. After that, the desiliconised solution is heated to temperature of 90 to 100 °C, calcium oxide is added for precipitation of vanadium and "solid-liquid" phases are separated to obtain calcium vanadate and chromium-containing solution.
EFFECT: method enables to reduce the roasting temperature and avoid the negative effect of adding an anion.
