FIELD: hygiene.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an oral rinse composition comprising one or more oral care active substances and aromatic oils formulated as an oil-in-water emulsion. Oral care composition for rinsing the oral cavity comprises: (a) 0.035 to 0.1% by weight of cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC) as an antimicrobial agent based on quaternary ammonium, (b) at least 0.05% by weight of a volatile aromatic oil having a solubility in water of not more than 0.1% at a temperature of about 25°C, and (c) an orally acceptable carrier comprising water in an amount of at least 50% by weight of the composition, (d) less than 0.05% of the total additional surfactant by weight of the composition.
EFFECT: composition is a stable nanoemulsion of oil-in-water type having a dispersed phase containing oil droplets with an average particle size of 30 to 250 nm, the bioavailability level of the CPC is ≥324 ppm in the DRA test.
