FIELD: mining.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mining and can be used in underground development of gently sloping coal beds prone to spontaneous ignition. Reserves are developed by long columns along the strike. Extraction pillars are developed successively in ascending order. Preparation of extraction pillars is carried out by parallel section excavations with leaving coal pillars between them. During the mining pillar preparation in the nearer to the underlying pillar formation an artificial strip is formed with lag behind the tunnel face. Artificial strip divides the mine working into two separate parts. Part of mine working from the side of the underlying pillar is used as a section excavation at its development and is extinguished after the longwall. Second part of mine working at the time of development of the underlying pillar is protected by an artificial strip and is used as a ventilation gap at transition of clearing works to the above located pillar. Presence of well-formed ventilation clearing and artificial strip at the lower boundary of the extraction pillar makes it possible to develop a pillar of the coal on the same line with the working face and to exclude the influence of the mined space of the previously used pillar on the work of the mining face.

EFFECT: invention solves the problem of reducing the risk of formation of self-ignition sources in the longwalls work-out space.
