FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine. A method for excitation and recording of a corneal reflex by which the cornea of the eye is irritated, which causes eyelid adhesion, and eyelid closure is recorded. At that, the corneal reflex is caused by the air supply directed to the cornea that causes the eyelid closing, the beginning and the end of the air flow are marked by the LED illumination, and registration is carried out with video camera, which is arranged so that in its angle of view there are moving parts of device for supply of air pulse, illumination of light-emitting diode and eye of test subject, with subsequent determination of characteristics of closing of eyelids.
EFFECT: using this method enables high-accuracy determination of the characteristics of the given reflex and obtaining quantitative data, particularly the latent time of the corneal reflex, the rate of closing the eyelids, id est more complete information on the functioning of this reflex.
