SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for secondary authentication in a network performed by user equipment (UE). Method comprises steps of: establishing primary authentication with security anchor function unit (SEAF); establishing session or connection of user plane (UP) with or through functional unit UP (UPF); receiving an authentication request based on an extensible authentication protocol (EAP) through the UPF; sending an EAP-based authentication response to the UPF and receiving the EAP-based authentication result through the UPF, wherein the EAP-based authentication result is based on the verification response from the authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA) server in the third-party domain.

EFFECT: technical result consists in separation of authentication in a network.
